“probably divorced by now……..”

This bride portrait was painted 50 years ago as Joy recalled. The funny thing Joy said, apart from the fact that the bride would be very,very old by now, was “she’s probably divorced by now!”. Ha! Ha! The joke is well taken, but one would have to recognize that the brushstrokes and design fill this particular portrait with a very dynamic quality. One could also notice that it is actually a study in white variations, an excellent foil for the face which is beautifully placed compositionally.
