Monarchist League portrait

This sitter, an untitled member of the Monarchist League, with his Boris Johnson Haircut and fancy mustache, seems to be missing the traditional briar pipe with a large bowl, (let’s face it, he looks like something out of Dickens). Joy herself mentioned her concern about the size of his ear and thought it should have been adjusted with some more judicious consideration of proportion, but her worries are likely unfounded as the eyes, the face, and the cheeks give the main face a predominance. Well maybe Joy was correct, but try to imagine this with no ear! You be the judge. It’s easy to be a critic, but what would you have done.
