Lynne Atkinson had worked with Joy back in the days of Arts Scarborough, and this is a memorial portrait of her dog. The dog looks majestic in its pose and brushstrokers are contoured enough to help define the form
Titles and sizes are in short supply for this archival record but you can see from the photo of Joy and a couple of her paintings that this particular piece measures approximately 30″ X 4′ or thereabouts. Although Joy signed her work from time to time accurate data is difficult to find for many of her works.
