As has been mentioned elsewhere almost all these portrait images are of paintings Joy photographed and then exhibited on Facebook. Often they had no title and no other information. It seems from this photo that the paintings are oil on board. The piece has been arranged as a sort of tryptich that Joy mentions as being appropriate as there didn’t seem to be any other way to put them all together. They have been joined by rendered frames and a sort of ancient colonnade of arches with a subject in each slot. They are seemingly a happy family in formal attire. They all have an individual character but I personally prefer the portrait on the left with the head angled with more intimacy. You might have a favourite yourself, and wonder why that is so.
