Joy MacFadyen Self-Portrait (3)

As Joy reported, this portrait with whiter hair than the previous one was painted “Just for the hell of it.” It is an outstanding piece for having been painted for that single reason. The colouring makes it a very warm piece, but once again, undated. Although this piece was likely not for sale, artists often do not date their work on the front of the painting for fear that if it was exhibited years later, the fickle public might not like it because it was old and outdated.
