Hidden……..

Its difficult to find a model to paint. It is absolutely essential for figure studies, and even clothed models provide the details that do not necessarily spring out of your mind in an accurate fashion. Sometimes one gets a truly memorable result which this image approaches but I read somewhere that it was painted over to create the portrait of Joy’s mum and dad. I can imagine the type of Xray images that painting archeologists use these days to discover Rembrandts under Rembrandts, but we have saved them a lot of time in the future by recording the details right here, there is a painting on top of this painting!
