These are some of the boxes I made with the cut-off frame ends that Jack gave me. I went through the box to find pieces that would fit together to make a square and glued them together then made 6 squares – one for the top and base and 4 to make the sides.
Then I added strips of curved wood molding to join the sides to each other and the base then painted the box and top. I popped a little bauble in the middle of each square and added decorations to the lids for lifting. The one on the red box was actually a little sculpture Tania gave me and it was really too big for the box so I removed it after this picture was taken and put one like the blue box has on instead. (They were part of a door stop that I never used.
I actually made quite a few boxes in different sizes and colours and sold them at a craft show on the grounds of the Guild Inn. A young lady who bought one asked if I’d mind her copying the idea and I said “Not at all- go for it, together we might start a “movement”!” Never saw her again so I don’t know whether she did or not. Anyway that was my effort at recycling for the year – thanks to Jack.
