Bill and June James were dear friends of Joy’s and I personally remember the early days of Arts Scarborough and the fiery executive meeting where June would display her enthusiasm to make sure we would all be successful in our cause. Which paid off. So her very supportive bridge playing husband is shown here painted for June after he passed away. The body painting is rather non-descript in comparison with some of the other paintings but one can see a character of kind determination in his facial features, a known quality of this fine fellow. Joy painted many commemorative portraits.
