About the Chateau de Grouchy
The Chateau de Grouchy is located in Osny, 30 kilometers northwest of Paris, France.
The current building is built on the vaulted cellars of a previous caste constructed during the first half of the seventeenth century. The arches of the Patio doors on the ground floor “Florentine” signal a work of the early nineteenth century. The castle is listed as a historical monument as well as all the architectural elements of the park.
The City of Osny purchased the castle which now houses the Town Hall, a gallery and museum of paintings. A beautiful park of 42 hectares surrounds the castle, arranged in an English garden in the front, and with a wide sloping plain and a small pond with an island.
The Canada/France artists are honoured to exhibit on the main floor of this historic castle.
Le Château de Grouchy est situé à Osny, à 30 kilomètres au nord-ouest de Paris, en France.
Le bâtiment actuel est construit sur les caves voûtées d’une caste précédente construite au cours de la première moitié du XVIIe siècle. Les arches des portes-fenêtres au rez-de-chaussée « Florentine » signalent une œuvre du début du XIXe siècle. Le château est classé monument historique ainsi que tous les éléments architecturaux du parc.
La ville d’Osny a acheté le château qui abrite aujourd’hui l’hôtel de ville, une galerie et un musée de peintures. Un beau parc de 42 hectares entoure le château, aménagé dans un jardin anglais à l’avant, et avec une large plaine en pente et un petit étang avec une île.
Les artistes Canada/France sont honorés d’exposer au rez-de-chaussée de ce château historique.
