Consider Donation
The Existential Art Gallery of Scarborough, more fondly known as “Gallery X” is a young unfunded Not-For-Profit corporation. It’s main stated aim is to establish a substantial bricks and mortar art gallery for Scarborough. The organization runs strictly on the work of volunteers and we have no funding for permanent staff. As of today we have not achieved “Charitable Status”. Even though Tax receipts cannot be issued at this time any donations large or small will be greatly appreciated and will help the organization establish its goals.
Perhaps you will consider a donation that will sponsor an exhibition. Perhaps your company or business would be interested in putting the company name on the cultural development of Scarborough. Perhaps you feel strongly about the arts as an individual and want to make sure that Scarborough is put on the map as a cultural centre. Whatever your reasons for making a donation, our volunteer organization will use your financial help wisely.
Thank you for your financial assistance.
Sponsor / Benefactor / Member Benefits
- Financial support through donations is our only present source of funds.
- Without your kind donations we are unable to fund costly services required by a growing organization
-
You will personally be building the cultural future of Scarborough by contributing to the establishment of a Scarborough landmark that will inspire us all by being specifically 'for the arts'
-
Establishing a substantial gallery is going to be a long journey and you will the satisfaction of knowing that 'you supported the gallery from day 1'
We encourage you to get involved
The benefits of becoming a member of the gallery are numerous even though the organization is young. First of all you will personally feel the pride of committing yourself to “The Arts” in Scarborough in a public way. You will be a catalyst to the growth of membership by announcing this to your friends. You will receive an occasional newsletter bringing you up to date about the progress of The Board and our volunteers. You will receive notification about upcoming virtual exhibitions.
Board Directors make every effort to meet once per month. Board Directors guide the organization by providing their expertise when needed and working with other Directors to achieve Board objectives. We do our best to assign ‘one thing’ to each Director so that no one gets overloaded. This gallery project is a long journey and we are interested in a long term commitmment where possible. We won’t be finished by next year, but if you can only spare a year as a volunteer Director you will be truly greatfully received by all the mebers of the board.
Volunteers are the backbone of most arts organizations and Gallery X is no exception. We work as a team and do what we can. Through our joint efforts we have made great friends, made good progress with government requirements for our ‘official’ existence, struggled through the loss of volunteers suffered by all organizations throughout this pandemic, and managed to present four excellent local and international exhibitions that are available on this website today. We would love to have you join our team and ‘do what you can’.
Every unfunded volunteer organization needs funding. As a sponsor you can pick where you think your sponsorship will be of most valuable to the growth of the organization. Even with volunteers doing a lot of work every development requires some sort of funding which is financial as opposed to voluntary. Sponsorship is a joint endeavour that can be managed by discussion between the board and you or your company. Needless to say perhaps, but this organization would be proud to meet with any potential sponsor as sponsorship will contribute greatly to the development of The Arts in Scarborough
